Won’t turn on: Plug in and push POWER and REFRESH at the same time for a couple seconds.
Keyboard problems: If some letters aren’t working and you are not at school, you can use your on-screen keyboard by clicking on the bottom right corner of your Chromebook, then choose Accessibility, then choose on screen keyboard. From there, a keyboard icon will appear at the bottom of your screen. You can click on it and then use your trackpad to choose the keys you need. You can also try a power wash to reset your keyboard. Once you are on campus, stop by the library and let us fix it or take it in for repair. You will be issued a loaner while yours is being repaired.
Loaners: We do not give out daily loaner computers. If your Chromebook isn’t working, stop by for a repair loaner to use until yours is fixed. If your Chromebook is lost, come get a form to get signed at home, then come back to get a new one once we have a parent/guardian signature.
Repairs: Cracked screen? Broken hinges? Turn in your Chromebook to get repaired and you will receive a loaner to use while yours is being repaired, which could take a couple weeks. Repairs will be charged to your account, unless you have purchased Chromebook Insurance, which we highly recommend you purchase! Please note: The last day to purchase insurance for the 2025-26 school year is September 26th. *Chromebook insurance does NOT cover intentional damage or excessive repairs.
To avoid expensive repair costs please:
Keep the CASE on at all times
Keep it DRY (avoid any liquids)
Keep it CLEAN (avoid dirt and crumbs)
Be GENTLE (they are breakable!)
GUHSD Protection Plan covers damaged and lost or stolen Chromebooks
Students without Protection Plans are responsible for the FULL cost of repairs😱
All plans can be purchased from the Finance Office or through the WEBSTORE

Students are responsible for all Chromebook-related fines incurred previous to purchase.
Continuing seniors are NOT eligible to purchase their Chromebook until they are leaving GUHSD.
