Workshop Title: Understanding the Academics of Probation

Presentation Summary: Join us for a session where we discuss how academic planning can impact student success. Spring Semester 2019 St. Norbert piloted integrating understanding academics with 11 first year students on probation during a required study skills course. The goal was to help these students better understand why they were on probation, what they needed to do to get off probation (and maintain scholarships) and help understand the importance of academic planning as it relates to academic success.

Presentation Summary: This session will provide an overview of the Peer Leader program at Fox Valley Technical College, with a focus on program development, hiring/onboarding, benefits, and challenges/successes. Presentation Summary: How is life different for advisors who work with students exclusively in online programs? Student Services Specialists from Herzing University Online will share how they build meaningful relationships with students they will never meet face-to-face. From optional telecommuting to heavy report running and virtual communications, they will share how their professional life has changed since moving to the online environment.
