Close contact

Self- Monitor for Symptoms

  • Self- monitor for symptoms for 10 days from your last date of contact with a COVID-19 positive individual.

  • If you develop symptoms, isolate as much as possible from other members of your household.

  • The CDC recommends being tested for COVID if you have symptoms and known contact.

Get Tested

  • While not required for return to campus, the CDC and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services recommend being tested at least 5 days after exposure to prevent spreading COVID-19 to others.

  • Testing on day 5 or later can help identify asymptomatic cases and prevent others from becoming ill.

  • Information on testing locations can be found here

  • Testing is not recommended if you have tested positive with a viral test within the last 90 days (unless new onset symptoms are present).

Wear a Mask

  • Wear a mask around others for 10 days following the date of your exposure, even if given a shorter isolation timeline.

  • Masks should be worn around family members and in public.

  • Masks should be well fitting and cover the nose and mouth.
