Our students have been excited about all the ladybugs they are finding outside, so I decided we better have a bug week here in EIPK! From ladybug stories to ladybug crafts, we had a busy week!
On Wednesday, we learned a little bit about Terry Fox and ran across the school yard before we started our outdoor playtime. Thank you to all of our families who sent in a toonie for Terry!
We recognized Orange Shirt Day two times here in EIPK, on both Thursday and Friday. We read the book "With Our Orange Hearts" by Phyllis Webstad and had a very simple, age appropriate conversation about orange shirt day.
On Tuesday, our four-year-olds read a book called "I Like Bugs." Afterwards, we worked together to make a bar graph and talk about our favourite kind of bugs, the ladybug was the winner by a landslide!
We practiced emergency evacuations this week. I was so proud of how well everyone did! We will be squishing in a few more practices before winter hits.
