We had a short week, but we packed in the rest of our fall unit and had a lot of fun on Halloween!
On Tuesday our four-year olds went on a fall scavenger hunt around the school. Scavenger hunts are a simple way to learn and practice vocabulary words.Â
We learned a bit about Diwali this past week by reading two different Diwali books: Binny's Diwali and Diwali Lights. Many of our students were excited to learn about a new holiday. And, for those of you who celebrate, have a very Happy Diwali!
We jammed as much Halloween fun in as we could on Thursday. From Halloween science to the Halloween parade, it was a pretty magical day!
Our morning class joined the Robina Baker School parade, and our afternoon class had a little parade of their own. Both classes enjoyed having time to show off their costumes.
We had three different science experiments happening on Halloween day. The first one was a science demonstration where we used vinegar and baking soda to blow up ghost balloons. Next, students had the chance to explore different states of matter as they melted ice to free the Halloween spiders. And lastly, we had a pumpkin volcano open for the students to try. I also sliced some pumpkins that the students had fun dissecting.
