It was a short week here in EIPK, but we packed in all the dinosaur fun that we could!
On Tuesday, we engaged in an early numeracy activity and learned a bit about just how big a T-Rex was... As tall as a house, but shorter than an apartment building. Bigger than an elephant, but smaller than a blue whale. The students were very intrigued by this activity. We also looked at a cut out of a T-Rex footprint. Our afternoon class was so interested, they measured to see how many shoes they could fit inside one T-Rex footprint!
The students had the chance to hatch frozen dinosaur eggs on Tuesday during play time. We used warm water and salt to free the babies! This scientific activity was a big hit with most of our future paleontologists!
On Friday our three-year-olds had their turn to explore with baking soda and red vinegar (aka, the "lava"). This activity was very engaging and most of our students stayed and played for an extended period of time.
