The Very Hungry Caterpillar!
We couldn't have bug week in here without The Very Hungry Caterpillar! We had fun this week reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar book, telling the story using story pieces, and also painting the very Hungry Caterpillar himself!
We learned some different bug songs this week, and this finger play was a big hit with both classes. I'll include the words below incase you want to try doing it at home as well:
1, 2, 3, (count with fingers)
There's a bug on me! (point to any part of your body)
Where did it go? (Pretend to brush the bug away)
I do not know! (Shrug shoulders)
We have been learning about different feelings here in EIPK. So far we have learned about happy, sad, mad, and frustrated. We have also been practicing different "calm down" tools. These are different strategies and tools we can use to help regulate our feelings when they get big. This week, we learned about puffer fish breathing. I will attach the video below, it is a great tool that you can also use at home when big feelings happen.
You might have noticed your child came home with a cute little snack bag this week! These snack bags were gifted to all the children from our school as part of our nutrition grant, enjoy!
