We were SO excited to welcome our support staff back on Thursday! We have missed them tremendously here in EIPK and we are looking forward to returning to our normal class schedule next week.
We took some time this week to play the game, Penguin Pile-Up. Playing games is one of my favourite ways to work on skill development. Games naturally lend themselves to practicing speech and language skills by saying "my turn." They are also a great time to work on taking turns, waiting, fine motor skills, and good sportsmanship!
There were several different paint brushes available this week for the students to try painting with. From finger brushes to sponge stampers, it was fun to explore with different textures while we strengthen our pincer grasp and fine motor skills!
We took some time this week to learn about Holi, the festival of colours. We watched a short, age appropriate video that gave us a sneak peek into the festival of Holi. Happy Holi to all of our families that celebrated last week!
We took advantage of the smaller groups and pulled out the plasma cars this past week in the gym. These cars are a fun time and the perfect opportunity to develop essential gross motor skills.
I hope everyone has been enjoying their playful learning packages at home. Thank you to the families that shared pictures of their children having fun playing and learning with their packages.
Next week, we will be returning to our normal class schedule!
