Goldilocks and the Three Bears!
This week we kept with our bear theme by reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears. This classic story never gets old and it has plenty of opportunities to work on those important early literacy skills by encouraging the children to make predictions and read aloud.
Miss Sandhu planned a fun little game for us that worked on our speech and language skills. We put serveral Goldilocks and the Three Bears items in a mystery bag and took turns pulling items out to see what might be inside. In between each turn, the students were invited to sing along to the "mystery bag" chant.
We took some time this week to get messy and play with ooblek! This fun mixture of cornstarch and water is exciting to explore with as it sometimes feels hard and sometimes runny.
Playful Learning Packages!
Thank you to all the parents and guardians that have been sending pictures of their children learning at home with their playful learning packages! I hope these packages give your children something fun to do during their days off. Playing is the work of children and they learn and develop so many valuable skills as they play and explore!
This week we learned a bit about Ireland. Some of our families have an Irish heritage and it was fun to look at the Irish flag and listen to a familiar song we know sung in Irish. I have included the song below in case you want to enjoy it at home as well.
Next week we will continue with our modified programming schedule. If you are unsure about what day your child is scheduled to attend school, please feel free to reach out!
March 31st - April 4th: Spring Break, No School
