Another Fun Week of The Zoo!
We had a blast finishing up our zoo theme this week. From going to the zoo to having a zoo safari hunt at school, it has been busy and so fun!
Our four-year-olds had a games day on Monday and our three-year-olds had a games day on Friday. Playing games is one of my favourite ways to work on so many important life skills including: speech and language skills, fine motor skills, sharing, taking turns, counting, and more!
If you're curious about what games we played, the four-year-old class played Feed Fuzzy and Candyland. And the three-year-old group played Pop-Up Pirate and Who Knows Whose Nose. These games are well loved and we play them in our classroom time and time again.
On Tuesday our four-year-olds went on a zoo safari hunt looking for the escaped zoo animals! This time we hunted around the school which was an exciting change of pace.
We played with the parachute in the gym this week. It was so fun, and it required SO much impulse control to wait for our turn to either go on top or underneath. I was proud of how hard everyone worked.
We had SO much fun at the Edmonton Valley Zoo on Thursday. We were lucky the weather cooperated and a huge thank you to all of our EIPK parents and guardians for taking the time to come with us to the zoo.
We had a bit of rain, and everyone handled it so well. From eating in the rain, to dealing with the closed train (for the afternoon class), we still managed to have an amazing time and make some pretty special memories together.
To all the special dad's, papa's, uncles, and men in our student's lives, thank you! It truly takes a village to raise children and we could not do it without you. I hope you are spoiled this Sunday and that each and every one of you has the wonderful day that you deserve.
Coming Up - One Week Left!
It's hard to believe we only have one week left of school. Wow, where has time gone. I have some special activities planned for next week, so please take a quick read to ensure you and your child are prepared for the fun days ahead!
June 17th: Messy art day for the four-year-olds, dress in play clothes that you don't mind getting wrecked!
June 19th: Last day of EIPK for the four-year-olds
June 19th: water play day - please make sure to pack a change of clothes, as your child might get wet! We will have lots of water-themed stations on this day.
Before we head outside we will be watching a movie, you are welcome to send a little party snack for your child to enjoy during this time. Fun ideas include a small bag of chips, a juice box, or a cookie.
We will be playing outside (on the front tarmac) from 10:15 - 11:15am for the morning class and 2:00 - 3:00pm for the afternoon class.
Pick up will be happening out front, you are welcome to come early if you want to play with us before taking your child home.
June 20th: Messy art day for the three-year-olds, dress in play clothes that you don't mind getting wrecked!
