We started our zoo theme this past week here in EIPK and it's been a wild time!
We made lion masks on Monday and Tuesday, and it was super fun to use them on Thursday to play "we're going on a lion hunt."
It's a pretty special time for our four-year-old group as they prepare to say goodbye to pre-kindergarten and hello to the big new world of kindergarten. To support them in this transition we visited the kindergarten classroom on both Monday and Tuesday. Everyone was excited to play with Mrs. Dupont's cool toys!
Our zoo field trip is coming up this week on Thursday! Please make sure you have signed BOTH the volunteer form and the zoo permission slip. These forms are due no later than Wednesday at 3:00pm in order for your child to attend.
We will be meeting you at the zoo, each parent or guardian is responsible for driving their child to and from the field trip
Each child requires a parent or guardian to stay with them for the duration of the field trip
The morning class will have their field trip from 9:00 - 11:30am
The afternoon class will have their field trip from 12:30 - 3:00pm
Please dress for the weather, unless it is storming, we plan to go to the zoo, rain or shine!
Our entire EIPK staff will be at the zoo to support you as needed, but it's important that you help your child in following the rules and staying together with the group.
If it is open, we will be riding the zoo train.
We will be ending our field trip at the "melt water play area." The children are allowed to walk and splash in this area. There is a chance your child will get wet, so please pack a change of clothes just in case. You can see the melt water play area in the images below, these pictures are from our field trip to the zoo a few years ago!
Please note, the zoo will be our EIPK programming on Thursday. If your child is not attending the zoo, there will be no school for them on this day.
