Just like that, our year of Early Intervention Pre-Kindergarten has come to an end. Thank you to all of our wonderful parents and guardians for making it such a fun and successful year of learning and growth. To finish up our week we had a little camping theme, and we packed in as much fun as we could!
On Monday and Friday, we had a bubbles party. The bubble supplies were paid for with spell-a-thon funds as a special treat for the EIPK students since they were unable to participate in the "Joe Show" (this was an activity that the older students had, paid for with spell-a-thon money).
On Monday and Friday our students tested their fine motor skills and hand-eye coorination by making and playing with marshmallow poppers. This super simple craft is always a camping hit!
On Tuesday and Friday we rolled up our sleeves and headed outside for some serious messy fun. The students strengthened their fine and gross motor skills by spraying, slapping, and rolling paint. Thank you to our EIPK parents and guardians for the laundry and baths that were probably needed afterwards!
To celebrate our last day all together, we had water play on Thursday. Our morning class was rained out, so we played inside, but that didn't slow us down! We still packed in as much fun as we could! Our afternoon class was lucky enough to play outside, and we enjoyed every minute of it!
Our morning class was lucky enough to enjoy the hoop dancing performance on Wednesday. The hoop dancer was amazing and our students impressively sat through the entire performance!
Parent/Guardian and Child Fun Swim!
Our optional, parent/guardian and child free swim is coming up on Tuesday, June 24th from 8:30 - 10:00am. Please ensure you have signed BOTH the permission slip and the volunteer form if you plan on participating. A few important notes about this day:
I will meet you at the pool, feel free to come any time from 8:30 - 10:00 am
The agreement that Black Gold has with the pool requires a one to one adult to child ratio
Each child REQUIRES a parent or adult guardian to be in the pool with them, and it is essential that you stay within arms reach of your child at all times
The permission slip AND volunteer forms are due no later than 3:00 pm on Monday, June 23rd
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
I cannot thank this group of parents and guardians enough. From the endless batches of home made play dough, to volunteering to come with us to the zoo, to coming in to read to our students... We are so very lucky for each and every one of you. They say it takes a village to raise children, and I really believe it - this group of students is so very lucky to have you as their parents and guardians! It has been an absolute pleasure working with you this past school year, and I certainly appreciate all the volunteer hours that you put in to make our school year extra special.
And, I am officially signing off. For those of you who are heading up to kindergarten, you will be so dearly missed! It's always hard to say goodbye after so many special memories together. However, new beginnings and adventures are awaiting, and I'm sure your children will have so much fun!
If your child is staying with me for another year of EIPK, you can expect to hear from me next week regarding your child's placement and what to expect in the fall.
Thanks again for the very best year, be sure to pop down and say hi from time to time!
