Space Bottles
Space Bottles
On Tuesday and Friday we worked to make space themed glittter bottles. These bottles are gorilla glued and also taped shut for the ultimate leak resistance! We have been learning how to properly use glitter jars as a calming tool here in our classroom. Shaking up the jar and watching the glitter fall while taking some quiet time and deep breaths can be a fantastic calming strategy during moments of upset.

On Wednesday we worked on our S-sound to make some space soup! Each child had a turn to add a special ingredient to our soup, from stars to slinkies, this recipe gave us plenty of opportunities to practice our S-sound again and again.

On Thursday we used a salad spinner to spin paint planets. This fun art experience was open for the students to try during play time, and it was a big hit.

Our country to learn about this week was the Netherlands. We looked at the Netherlands flag and talked a bit about the Netherlands official language, Dutch. We also listened to a familiar song we know, Baby Shark, sung in Dutch! I have included the song below for you to enjoy at home as well.

Thank you so much to all of our amazing play dough making volunteers. It has been wonderful to have fresh batch of play dough every couple of weeks. A huge thanks goes out to Selena White, Amanda Johnsen, Melanie Lund, Lynn Perez, and Ashtynn Holdal for all of the play dough so far this school year!
