We transitioned to farm week here in EIPK. From farm books, to farm crafts, and farm science, it's been busy and whole lot of farm fun!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar!
On Monday, we read one of our favourite books, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. After this we worked on sequencing the letters of our name to build caterpillars. This activity was good way to practice and get ready for our upcoming spell-a-thon!
On Tuesday, Miss Sandhu read us a book about cows, Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type. We loved the cows in this book so much, that we had to make some cows of our own! The end result is so cute!
On Wednesday we enjoyed another farm book, Mrs. Wishy Washy's Farm! This is a silly story about farm animals that run away to the big city.
On Thursday we enjoyed singing one of my favourite farm songs, the Farmer in the Dell. After this, we did some farm math by making a bar graph to chart everyone's favourite farm animal.
Our three-year-olds engaged in a hopping corn science experiment on Friday. It was fun to mix, stir, and make predictions about what might happen. No one would have guessed that we would make the seeds in the jars dance!
Goodbye and Goodluck to Miss Sandhu!
Thursday was Miss Sandhu's last day with us. Good luck on your teaching career, Miss Sandhu, we will miss you!
You might have noticed the spell-a-thon packages that were sent home this past week. At the EIPK level, we are doing the spell-a-thon mostly for fun and to introduce our students and families to this fundraiser that is a very big deal at out school. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about the process!
