Even though our week was short, we finished up our farm theme here in EIPK.
On Monday we took our four year olds on a hunt around the school to find all the farm animals that escaped. This fun search and find activity was a great way to practice speech and language skills and also strengthen our vocabularies. Many students could not identify the turkey and several did not know that a mother chicken is called a hen!
Hopping Corn Science Experiment
On Tuesday our four year olds had their turn to pour, stir, mix, and observe as they engaged in the hopping corn science experiment.
We loved singing the farmer in the dell so much, that we had to sing it again this week! On Wednesday we enjoyed singing both the farmer in the dell as well as five little ducks. Singing is one of my favourite ways to practice speech and language skills.
On Thursday we read the classic story, The Three Little Pigs. After this we used some 'muddy' paint (brown paint mixed with coffee) to create pigs of our own.
