First off, our Early Intervention Pre-K team would like to wish all of our amazing EIPK dads a very Happy Father's Day this weekend. We appreciate all you do for our students and we know that being a dad is not always an easy job! Enjoy your day and hopefully you are able to spend it with those you love the most.

We had another week of camping fun here in EIPK. It was busy and the classroom is starting to buzz with excitement as we get closer to the end of the school year!

On Monday our four-year-olds went to kindergarten for a play. We also went back on Thursday to have a song and a story with Ms. Garlough. Our future kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Dupont, also came to play with us on Thursday. What an exciting week!

Like true campers, we used marshmallows at paint brushes this past week. Our four-year-olds painted on Monday and our three-year-olds painted on Friday. A marshmallow is a very different paint brush. It paints smooth and slippery and makes neat little circles too!

On Tuesday we took advantage of the beautiful weather and got outside to search for camping pictures! I was impressed with how well the students followed the plan and safety rule of "staying with the group." Many of our students are building large camping vocabularies. Words such as tent trailer, motor home, canteen, and lantern were easily used in our camping conversations these past two weeks.

Thank you to all of our parents for helping your children participate in show-and-tell this past school year. I know show-and-tell needs a lot of parent support at this age, so I appreciate your help! We had our final show-and-tell this past week and the students have really mastered the routine of taking turns and listening to each other as we share our special items.

It's hard to believe we are heading into our last week of school! Please read through our plan for the week carefully and ensure you are helping your child to prepare for each day of fun!

June 11th - All library books due back
June 18th - Field Trip to We Rock the Spectrum Indoor Playground in Edmonton
Students must attend with a parent or guardian
All attending parents and guardians will be required to sign a volunteer form
There will be no buses, you are responsible for transporting your child to and from this field trip
The morning class will attend from 9:00 - 11:30 am
The afternoon class will attend from 12:30 - 3:00 pm
June 19th - Messy art day!
We will be heading outside and enjoying some messy art this day. Please ensure your children are dressed in play clothes that you don't mind getting dirty!
June 20th - Last Day of EIPK - water day!
We will be heading outside to play with water today. Water tables, truck washes, and bubbles are just some of the fun we have planned. Please ensure your child is wearing sunscreen and has a change of clothes in their backpack incase they get wet.
- June 21st - Optional EIPK Family Swim Day!
- Come out and celebrate the arrival of summer!
- 2:00 - 3:00 pm
- Each student requires a parent or guardian to get in the pool with them
- Permission slips are now available on your PowerSchool account
