Forests of the world
Forests are the lungs of the earth, all the carbon dioxide released sinks to forests and they return oxygen into the atmosphere. Hence a balance of carbon dioxide and oxygen is maintained. There have been disasters due to the increased cutting down of trees. These forests are home to diverse creatures and when these forests are cleared many animals and birds lose their habitat and lives. Forests are as important as air, water, etc. on the earth's surface. They are the elixir of life. Forests give us a feeling of heaven on land. Their aesthetic and medicinal value is another important aspect. Many industries get raw materials from forests, directly or indirectly we all are stakeholders. In a true sense, forests are safeguards and are protecting the earth from getting destroyed. At last, I quote, “If man doesn’t learn to treat the forests with respect, man will become extinct.”
