On this day, the Prime Minister of India hoists the Indian flag at the Red Fort and addresses the nation. There are parades and cultural ceremonies . Also, patriotic songs and the National Anthem of India are sung.

Salamander Days is an observation held in Banska ́ Štiavnica, Slovakia in the first or second weekend of September. They last from Friday to Saturday. It marks the starting of the mining activity in Banska ́ Štiavnica. It derived its name from an amphibian salamander that gave glory to the city according to a legend. Today, for the celebration of Salamander Days, a carnival procession takes place. Salamander Days first started in 1762 after a mining academy was found in the city. The city has now become a significant place of academic life with rich and vibrant student and social life. Parades are held during the event as a symbol of historic continuity. Several exhibitions, traditional market , manifold cultural programmes, etc. are well known to the Slovakians. Friday is the most important day during the event as Salamander Procession takes place on this day along with the carnival. Earlier, Salamander Days Parade used to be a ritual but it has transformed into a tradition with the passage of time. This is one of the most important and celebrated festivals of the Slovakians.

Chinese New Year is a festival celebrated with great enthusiasm among the people of China. Besides China, this tradition is celebrated in many Asian countries such as Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan. It is celebrated to mark the beginning of the traditional Chinese lunar calendar. Therefore,it is also known as the Lunar New year.It is also known as the Spring Festival because the holiday marks the end of the coldest days and welcomes the spring days. People decorate their houses with red posters(with poetic verses), Chinese New year pics, red lanterns and lot more. People also spend time with their families. On the Eve of the Chinese New Year, people set off fireworks, hoping to cast away their bad luck. Children also get money as gifts. On this festival, many activities such as beating drums, striking gongs as well as lion and dragon dances take place.

It is a very famous festival celebrated in France. Basically, it's a huge bike race that takes place every summer. It goes right around France. Riders usually have three types of bicycles: one for time trials, one for flat road stages and a very light bicycle for the mountain-climbing stages of the race. All bicycles must meet the standards of the International Cycling Union. It is divided into time-trial racing and racing stages covering both flat land and great stretches of mountains. It was established in 1903 by Henri Desgrange , a French cyclist and journalist. The race has been run every year except during the World Wars. He came up with the crazy idea of a bike race around France in order to raise the profile of L'Auto, the newspaper he worked for. The person who wins gets a prize of worth €2,287,750.

Cameroon is a country located in Africa. On the 20th of May 1972, the Cameroonians voted for a unitary state as opposed to the existing federal state. This day was popularly recognised as The National Festival of Cameroon. The northern part of the country is occupied by the Fula people. Cameroon holidays and festivals are mostly fun for most of the travellers. The holidays and festivals are mostly organised in the big cities of Douala and Yaoundé but there are some of them in the smaller cities as well. There are many art pieces displayed on the streets of the cities, many events and fun shows are also organised. Music lovers should definitely visit the country during the month of May. African Music Markets are a must to visit. This festival takes place once in every two years in Douala with a huge gathering of the Cameroonians and musicians.

Afghanistan has long being inflicted with terrorist attacks, insurgency and even prone to natural calamities which have terribly affected the social and cultural growth of the country.
