A virtual world is a computer-based simulated environment which may be populated by many users who can create a personal avatar, and simultaneously and independently explore the virtual world, participate in its activities and communicate with others.
A large percentage of virtual world users are in their teens group. This is probably not surprising seeing how teenagers are one of the largest users of computer games.However, there are also many other users such as children and adults.
Kids live in their own worlds. Worlds entirely made of pink and fairy dust. Worlds full of fantasy creatures bashing each other’s heads in. Worlds revolving around that one beloved celebrity whose name you keep forgetting.
Some virtual worlds are intended for children: they have built-in protections to keep their experience age-appropriate.
If a child visits a virtual world, The guardian of the child should get to know what’s on the site, the privacy protections it offers, and how it verifies the ages of site visitors.
If a child gets really interested in online gaming or virtual worlds, guardian should watch for changes in their patterns of behavior that could indicate an obsession.
Kids can be brutally and unapologetically honest. So we decided to put that honesty to good use and find out what they thought about the virtual reality hype. We had them try out the HTC Vive VR headset, and their reactions were amazing.
Kids don't outgrow virtual worlds when they hit their teenage years. Many virtual worlds are geared toward the teenage set and they are gaining popularity every day. Worlds for teens are less carefully supervised, include more adult themes, and may allow a fair amount of social interaction. It's important to note that teen sites allow more inappropriate language and behavior, although the best sites are still somewhat moderated and definitely filtered. Expect more outside advertising and the availability of premium goods and services that cost real-world money.

Microsoft HoloLens, known under development as Project Baraboo,[3] is a pair of mixed reality smartglasses developed and manufactured by Microsoft. HoloLens gained popularity for being one of the first computers running the Windows Mixed Reality platform under the Windows 10 operating system. The HoloLens can trace its lineage to Kinect, an add-on for Microsoft's Xbox gaming console that was introduced in 2010.
