GVC1706 - Live Streaming

Live streaming or live videos began life in 2011 with the live streaming app YouNow. Eventually, in 2014, we saw the launch of Snapchat. In 2015, Twitter acquired the live streaming app Periscope which was eventually integrated with the social platform in 2016.

In April 2016, Facebook launched Facebook Live to all their users. Following this YouTube announced live streaming for mobile devices. In 2017, live streaming is available on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to name a few social platforms.

Live streaming is not the new thing to anyone . Infact, it is being in our history in one or another form since 1990s. Live streaming provides with unique benefits . Live streaming doesn't allow editing or 'cherry picking' the best parts.What you see is what you get. It is due to live streaming that we are able to watch the events that takes place in the other corner of the world even after sitting in our homes. In our l school live streaming is used in wide scale. Last year, a play was enacted by the students of our school for the Germans and they saw it live in Germany with the help of Live Streaming.

Live Streaming has become one of the rising aspects of social media . It gives us an opportunity to witness and see events without being physically present there. In the recent times a number of live streaming websites and portals have enabled people across the world to witness events in the other corner of the world.This trend has taken over social media platforms,messaging apps and e-commerce. It is influencing industries around the world and redefining how people interact with each other, and with businesses. Video streaming apps are also quite high in demand in Asia. Live Streaming is widely used to broadcast sports events,video and press conferences and live rallies around the world.With live streaming capabilities, anyone can contribute to the already billion of daily views on the sites and thus help the streaming websites advertise in these videos.

Nowadays, many people upload to various social media with all kinds of performances, such as talk shows, dance, singing, fashion, language teaching, etc. Some of them become famous youtubers who attract so many viewers or followers that bring more income, fame, and career opportunities.
