You can enter it whenever you have evidence.
Our goal is to consistently provide "Progress Check" every 4-6 weeks and then follow those 4-6 weeks later with summative assessment data and report card.
You may wish to enter a 'Mid-Point Check-In' on a current outcome that you are working on. This does not need to be a specific assignment, but your professional judgement about where a student currently is based on evidence from observations, conversations and products.
Naming assignments in PowerTeacher Pro:
Be specific and include the skill or assessment focus when applicable.
Example assignment names may include"
Letter and sound recognition
Reading fluency and accuracy
Reading comprehension
Reading: Thinking beyond the text
Writing: Use of conventions
Writing: Word Choice: Halloween Story
Select the class from the top course changer.
Create > Assignment
3. Under the Assignment Tab:
Name the assignment
Category:
Choose ELEM-Progress Check or ELEM - Summative Assessment
Ensure that Collected Only is selected as the score type.
Enter due date if applicable.
Then move to STUDENTS TAB.
4. Under the Student Tab of the Assignment, you can add or remove students. The default is for all students to be selected.
Skip this step if this assignment is for ALL students.
5. Click on the Standards Tab.
6. Click on Add/Edit Standards.
7. Scroll through the outcomes OR use the search box to select the appropriate outcomes. You can choose multiple outcomes if they are applicable.
Ensure Count in Grade is selected. If you wanted to be shown on the student's report card
8. Select the Publish Tab.
Choose when and how you would like to publish the scores to the parent portal.
Check with your school administrators to see when your parent portal is opened.
9. Click on Save and Close.
