Keeping the peace at FUNglish World

The usual 'Red Light, Green Light' game was turned into a police officer training. Teachers and student trainees kept the peace at FUNglish World by shouting 'Freeze!' while others try to make it to the finish line. It was surprisingly fun!

２月のお昼休みの英語活動は「警察官になろう！」です。みんなでかっこいい警察帽子をかぶって、海外の警察官になりきり体験をしました！キリッとした表情で敬礼する姿は、とっても頼もしくてステキでした！

The fifth graders were all smiles and giggles as they each received a reply from Kristan, thanking them for their recommendations on places to visit and activities to do in Japan. Kristan, a special guest for Unit 7 ('Welcome to Japan'), had shared his interests and expressed his intent to explore the country. 

５年生は、ALTのメイ先生の夫、フィリピンに住むクリスタンさんに、日本のおすすめの場所を調べて、英語のビデオレターを送りました！一人一人にクリスタンさんから、お礼のメッセージが届き、みんなとても喜んでいました！

How do you say "Sensuikan" in English? It's a submarine! In the Aohima class, they're challenging themselves to name various vehicles in English!

「潜水艦って英語で何て言うの？」「submarineサブマリーンだよ！」あおひまクラスでは、いろいろな乗り物の英単語を声に出してたくさん練習中！クイズやまねっこ発音で、楽しく英語に親しんでいます♪

February's event was Valentine's Day! The second graders learned about Valentine's Day culture, made hug dolls, and enjoyed games! They told each other “I love you” and spent a heartwarming time together.

２月の海外イベントといえばバレンタインデー💝

外国のバレンタインの文化を学びながら、ハグ人形を作ったり、バレンタインの歌やダンス、大盛り上がりの「I love youゲーム」をしました！

みんなお互いに「I love you! 大好きだよ！」を伝え合う、心あたたまる時間になりました！

5年生は、自分の憧れの人物、Heroについてのプレゼンテーションに挑戦します。まずは、誰を選ぼうかなぁ。

”My hero is～　・・・・・”

発表に向けて、表現を追加し、磨いていきます。

Let's become firefighters! What English words do they use in foreign countries during a fire? We learned emergency English together through games!

１月のお昼休み英語活動「Funglish World」では、消防士がテーマ！外国では火事のとき、どんな英語を使うのかな？ゲームを楽しみながら、緊急時に役立つ英語表現をみんなで学びました。学びと笑顔がいっぱいの時間になりました！

6年生に富岡中のALTからビデオメッセージが届きました。「中学校でどんなclub（部活動・校外活動）に入ってみたいですか？また、将来どんな人になりたいですか？」

この２つの質問に答えようと、準備が始まりました。まずは、いろんな活動の表現を確認します。そのまま日本語になっているものもありますが、陸上競技ってなんて言えばいいのでしょうか。必要感のある学びが進められます。
