Critical Thinking
We are studying critical thinking, which means thinking carefully and logically. We also want to explore how children can develop this skill. We investigated how many students have used critical thinking in class and found that most had not taken classes focused on it. Based on this, we decided to suggest a teaching method to improve students' critical thinking. In the future, we will create a syllabus for this method and continue working with a college teacher to develop it further.
Health Connected with Local Area
Our group tackled both environmental and health problems. In Miyagi prefecture, paprikas are produced but their seeds are discarded. So we created furikake with ingredients we need to get more to make good bodies to protect environment and our body. As a result, it is effective to make up for almost nutrition we need to get in a day. And we begun to spread to the recipe on cookpad because it is popular.
Regarding the Transfer of Club Activities to Local Areas
We explored the challenges of transitioning club activities to the community and how to solve them. The first is that the number of children who are active in the club is decreasing. Second, the salaries of teachers involved in club activities are low. Third, many of them have no experience in the sports activities of the clubs they are in charge of. Possible solutions to these problems included the establishment of a human resource bank and the introduction of online guidance as ideas. We would like to try to see what kind of results we can get if we actually do a regional transition of club activities in the area surrounding the school, as this is an exploration based only on information from the Internet and external activities conducted during the school trip.
We Tried Saving the World with Euglena
This study explores the use of Euglena as a food ingredient. Euglena is rich in a wide range of nutrients, often in higher quantities than other common ingredients. We believed that incorporating Euglena into food could help address potential future issues related to nutrient deficiencies. To test this idea, we cultivated Euglena and used it to make cookies. The cookies had a mild bitterness, similar to tea. During the process, we discovered that extracting Euglena efficiently is challenging, indicating a need for improved extraction methods. Since there are various types of Euglena, further research is required to compare their nutritional value, cost-effectiveness, and flavor profiles.

How to Prevent Elderly People from Eating Medicine Package by Mistake
We want to suggest a new package to solve the problem of elderly people sometimes eating medicine packages. We’ll make it from casein plastic and use denatonium because we think it will not injure our body and prevent us from drinking a medicine package. We conducted an experiment to see whether casein plastic dissolves in artificial gastric juice, but we couldn’t succeed. So we’ll think and try it again. In the future, we’ll think about new package design deeply.
Vision Can be Improved
We thought that we wanted to know the easy way to recover the vision to help people who use glasses or contacts to live comfortably. Then we found an article about VR goggles and we tried to confirm the effects. We did the two experiments using two different videos. From the experiments, subjects’ vision recovered by watching the video using VR goggles. Also, the subjects who watched nature video recovered more than the subjects who watched a study video. From these experiments, we can recover our vision easily by using VR goggles. From now on, we want to survey more about how long the effect will continue.
