Expanding Turugaya Local Community

Turugaya has many elderly people. Problems like lonely deaths and fewer residents are growing. We studied three groups of elderly: healthy, needing help, and not interested. The last group often has no connections. To help, we planned health talks and placed benches where people can meet and talk. This builds a stronger community. I want to do something meaningful as a high school student and help other areas in Japan with the same problems.

To Make People Read Books

Our group's purpose is to make people read books. So, we conducted surveys to students about reading. The result shows a reason to stop reading related to entertainment, such as smartphones and TV-game. So,the population of reading books tends to decrease with age.After that,we think bookcafe is the most effective place to make people read books.So we will survey bookcafe’s actual situation in the next.And we want everyone to enjoy reading books.

Is That Understanding Correct? – The Truth About the Juvenile Law

Nowadays, the repeat offence rate of juveniles doesn't decrease and we have examined how to decline the rate. We suspected juvenile law doesn’t work and it should be strictly. However, once the U.S. made it strictly, the rate became higher. Afterward, we guessed the juvenile rehabilitation facility doesn’t work. Therefore, we inspected the inside of the facility. They have trained to get a job and it is a recipe to return to society. Judging from the result, juvenile law and the facility is working. Thus, we think it is important to accept them by the whole of society because they have tried to return to society and had skills to get a job.

What Should We Do To Have Everyone Vote?

My group research visually impaired persons’ elections.We corrected information from the internet, some news and interviews.We could get some information.For example, they have two ways to vote,they use a braille device or other auxiliary tool and staff vote instead of them.So,we could find problems.We thought of some idea how they can get information about elections and vote more easily.We will think about solutions deeply. We want to tell the government our research. 

Aiming to Smoothly Provide Emergency Medicines in Times of Disaster

This study explores emergency medicines in times of disaster. If we do not have medications when disaster happens, it will be very difficult. So I want to provide medicines smoothly. I think there are three ways to solve it. However, these have merits and demerits. In additon, Medicine does not send directly to evacuation shelters. It is a big problem. So We need to search for the number of people with disease. Moreover, We should spread awareness of the convenience of medical notebooks to people.

Optimization of Classroom Ventilation Methods

We usually ventilate our classroom by opening windows, but it causes problems like bad smell, noise, and temperature changes. To improve balance, we tested different window-opening patterns using a model with smoke. Opening all windows was most effective, but differences with other patterns were small. In winter, Method M works well for quick air exchange, while in summer, slightly opening windows suits continuous ventilation. We concluded that the best way is to adjust window-opening methods based on the situation.

To Seek the Unbreakable Codes

Firstly, we have researched “RSA code” which uses prime numbers. However, today, we will solve it easily with quantum computers. Then we found the “ECC” which uses an elliptic curve and the difficulty of “ECDSA”. Through researching the ECC and ECDSA, we could get knowledge about them. However, we even don’t know how they are related, so we want to research it deeply after this. Also, we would like to research how to change the codes if we change the plain texts.

The New Design for Attachments of School Desks

School desks do not have enough space because of ICT , textbooks. It makes us feel uncomfortable when we study. In order to solve this problem, we create new attatiment of them, called “Pakapaka” . It is attached to the side of school desks. The latest experiment showed that whether we use “Pakapaka” or not affects the comfort of studies. We are currently pursuing a design that everyone can use, so that everyone can realize the benefits.

Save Those with Sweet Tooth

Number of people that suffer from dietary restriction increases in the world. So we are researching the effects of sweets on our body,and we are trying to make a very delicious cake that doesn't use sugar.For example,we use okara powder instead of flour and low carb sugar instead of usual sugar.From the experimental results,taste of okara powder and Lakanto is not good taste,but we could alleviate the taste of there by mixing matcha.For a cake like this helps people who care about their diet enjoy eating something you want to eat.Also,we would like to make a similar cake not only matcha flaver but also other flavers.

Activating "Tsurugaya Shopping Street"

Tsurugaya shopping street is near Sanko and was crowded with many people about 40~50 years ago. We explore this topic for more people to use this street often. We interviewed 91 people and asked some questions such as where they live, how old they are, how they think about prices in the street and so on. Results showed that users’ residence is near the street and most of the users are seniors. We suggested many people come to Tsurugaya shopping street by using Instagram to inform everyone about the street's information and handing out maps which include shops' street advertisements.
