Podcasts!

Because we don't want our brains to go soft on us but these are strange and stressful times, we would like to offer some podcasts that will help pass the time, keep you entertained, and maybe give you a little extra knowledge to boot. Note to parents: I have listened to some but not all of these podcasts. I am including these based on recommendations from multiple parenting and educational websites.

This is a personal favorite in the library. Tracy and Holly bring us the forgotten corners of world history with quirk and humor. In light of current events, they released a list of some of their more lighthearted episodes. I've included some for us here.

You might know them from their YouTube channels The VlogBrothers and Crash Course. Or maybe you've read their books. Or seen the movies. Hank and John Green also have a charming podcast that you might like.

  • In the era of fake news, kids need to learn to be able to tell what’s true from what’s false. And what better way to do that than a game show that puts kids in the driver’s seat, adults on the hot seat, and a sound-effects robot strapped to the roof?

Six Minutes is another enthralling, suspenseful audio drama from the creators of the award-winning podcast The Unexplainable Disappearance of Mars Patel. Featuring a voice cast of real kids, each six-minute episode continues the story of an 11-year-old girl named Holiday who finds herself in the middle of a mystery adventure with no memory of where she came from. New updates are released twice a week, and you'll be counting down the minutes to see what happens next.
