November and December were filled with lots of fun at Wolverines. In November we focused on harvesting, Native American culture, and using dance, yoga, and mindfulness activities to get our bodies moving. December was all about the holidays. We learned about Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and winter solstice. We also explored Christmas traditions from around the world. The hi-light of December was our wonderful Family Cookie Night! We invited our families to join us as we sang carols, decorated cookies, and drank cocoa. This was a really fun event, we always love when we are able to get together and invite families in.

November was full of scarecrows, leaf crafts, and lots or turkeys! We also played Fall themed BINGO. December we were busy creating many holiday projects including elf and gingerbread puppets, tissue paper wreaths, and Christmas countdown clocks. We also practiced singing carols and made big snowflakes for family cookie night.
November was a busy month learning about germs and healthy foods! We learned how germs spread using different colored glitter and the importance of hand washing with our song "This is the way we wash our hands". We talked about what healthy foods we like to eat while playing in our dramatic play center! We played scientist with our celery food coloring experiment, using our 5 senses to guess what would happen next!
In December we focused on holidays and how different cultures celebrate. Learning how many families spend their holidays! We made ornaments for our families; dreidels to play with and made crafts for kwanza. We sang songs about the holidays and snow. Preforming some of our favorite holiday songs at our cookie night for our families!!
Kindergarteners celebrated Native American Heritage Month by engaging in a variety of fun and educational activities. November was filled with enriching lessons that highlighted the significant contributions and rich cultures of Native Americans. December brought a joyous atmosphere buzzing with contagious excitement surrounding the holidays. We read many stories about beloved family traditions. We created fun holiday crafts and we practiced our caroling for Family Cookie Night!
In the month of November, first grade learned and played games all about music and movement! Together we started off the month playing Rhythm Detective, where Wolverines had to pay close attention to which of their friends was changing the beat of the song. Then, we moved into fun games like musical chairs, and musical hula-hoops listening to our favorite songs along with some friendly competition! We next listened to different types of music and drew pictures that went along with the sounds we heard. And finally, finished off the month listening to Christmas Carols and worked on caroling booklets! December was a month filled with holiday cheer! We started off playing festive gym games like, Elves and Reindeer where Elves had to tag reindeer, turning them into snowmen! We then learned about snow and where it comes from, even making our own! After this we made snow globes with different landscapes, learned about wreaths and made our own wreath ornaments, learned new facts about the history of gingerbread and made our own gingerbread houses, lastly we decorated our own Christmas tree ornaments!
In November we focused Health and Fitness. Learning about healthy habits included healthy eating, exercising, and limiting our screen time! Getting along and working together, was also very important. We played cooperative team games which included, Basketball, Four Square and new tag games. The students also made Thanksgiving turkey cup crafts for the Griswold Senior Center. The cups had riddles inside for the Seniors to enjoy reading. During December we learned about various holiday traditions from around the world and shared our own holiday traditions. We made gingerbread houses and wooden ornaments. We had fun making “ fake snow” and talking about different snow activities. We also learned about the winter solstice and made a craft to go with it. The Second grade class would like to wish everyone “Happy Holidays!”
For the month of November 3rd and 4th grade’s main focus was Fall Harvest & Pumpkins. We learned the life cycle of a Pumpkin, following lots of fun Pumpkin crafts. We learned about season changes like why leaves lose color and how we can spot the noticeable differences of fall outdoors. We ended the month off with some fun Thanksgiving crafts and expressing the things we are grateful for!
For the month of December 3rd and 4th grade have been focusing on Christmas and expressing their love for the holiday. We have done a variety of fun holiday crafts, including watercolor salt snowflakes, popsicle stick Christmas trees, and even fake snow! We practiced singing Christmas songs along with fun holiday themed games in the gym.
