Summer Assignment 2024: Continuing Your Capstone Experience

Preparing for the Fall

Summer Assignment: Capstone Community Service

DIRECTIONS

This coming school year, it's very important to keep up with Capstone responsibilities. And what better time than summer to catch up on the VOG area of Engaged Citizen! Your assignment for the summer is to volunteer for activities that you can count toward your community service obligation for Capstone.

Rationale: Being an Engaged Citizen ties into the habit of mind of learning continuously. When you engage in community service, you demonstrate leadership skills, act empathically, and develop confidence in your abilities to try new things.  You are expected to continue to work on your community service hours over the summer. Not sure what to do? Check out the Community Service website!

Please remember to print out and fill in the Community Service Form (below left) to get credit for the community service activities you did this summer. If you are an incoming freshman or if you are new to GHS, please also print out and fill in the Community Service Acknowledgement form that explains the community service requirement for GHS students.
