WALT: Add and subtract decimal numbers
WALT: Multiply and divide decimal numbers
Learn:
The key ideas to find out and understand are...
When adding and subtracting decimal numbers just add or subtract the digits in the same place value. To do this, line up the decimal points and matching place values vertically first.
When multiplying decimal numbers just write the terms as whole numbers and multiply. Put the decimal point back in when finished. The number of decimal places in the answer = the number of decimal places in the question.
When dividing with decimal fractions the question must be changed so the divisor is a whole number first. Move the decimal points in both numbers to the right until the divisor is a whole number. Drop any zeros off the front of the numbers.

WALT: Read decimal numbers
WALT: Order decimal numbers
WALT: Round decimal numbers
Learn:
The key ideas to find out and understand are...
A decimal number is another way to represent a part or a portion of a whole number, just like a fraction or a percentage does.
As we move left through a number, each place value is 10 times bigger than the position before.
As we move right through a number, each place value is 10 times smaller than the position before.
To round a number, you need to look at the digit to the right of the place value you are rounding to.
If that digit is 5 or higher, you round the number up.
If that digit is 4 or lower, you round the number down.

WALT: Find a fraction of an amount
WALT: Add and subtract fractions with like denominators
WALT: Add and subtract fractions with different denominators
WALT: Multiply fractions
Learn:
The key ideas to find out and understand are...
When we find a fraction of an amount, we are working out how much that 'part' is worth within the whole. To work out the fraction of an amount we: 'Divide by the bottom and times by the top.'
Fractions are alike if their denominators are the same.
Fractions are unlike if their denominators are different.

WALT: Order and compare fractions
WALT: Simplify fractions
WALT: Convert mixed numbers to improper fractions and vice versa
Learn:
The key ideas to find out and understand are...
Symbols for fractions tell how many parts the whole has been divided into (the bottom number or denominator) and how many of those parts have been chosen (the top number or numerator).
Know how to read the symbols for the common fractions
Understand fraction equivalence
