Kia ora, everyone! For the next two days, while you are learning from home, you are to focus on two main things: finishing and practicing your presentation and writing me an email. 

Finishing and practicing your presentation:

• You need to ensure you have linked your presentation slides into the Common Assessment Task - Hero Cycle Presentation document on the workspace.

• You need to have slides prepared to present, which include images and information about each step in the hero cycle. 

• You need to have either written out a speech, or have the information you need on your slides/cue cards. 

• Then! You need to practice with your family at home.

• Because we are learning from home for the next two days, the presentation will be postponed to the first week back from the school holidays. So you have an extra two weeks to prepare and get yourself really familiar with your presentation and ready to speak in front of your classmates. 

Writing me an email:

Write and send me an email about your plans for the holidays. Use this checklist to make sure you include everything you need. 

• There must be a subject line

• You must begin your email with a greeting, for example: "Dear Ms. Starling"

• You must answer these questions: 

  • • • What are your plans for the school holidays? 

      • What are you excited about for the next two weeks? 

      • What have you enjoyed about your first term at high school so far? 

      • What aspects of English have you enjoyed? 

• You must end your email with a sign off, for example: "Kind regards, Ms. Starling"

• You must write at least 150 words

• Send the email through your school gmail account!
