Kia ora, welcome to Ms. Starling's 10D page!
I usually use Hāpara to manage my classes work, with all important tasks organised on the site under the groups on the left hand side of the page. You can navigate to each individual term on my site to see a record of what was focused on and completed that week.
Click the button on the right to go to the dashboard.
Kia ora, everyone! For the next two days, while you are learning from home, you are to focus on one thing in English: writing an email to me through your student gmail account.
Write and send me an email about your plans for the holidays. Use this checklist to make sure you include everything you need.
There must be a subject line
You must begin your email with a greeting, for example: "Dear Ms. Starling"
You must answer these questions:
What are your plans for the school holidays?
What are you excited about for the next two weeks?
What have you enjoyed about Term 1 of year 10?
What aspects of English have you enjoyed?
You must write at least 150 words
You must end your email with a sign off, for example: "Kind regards, Ms. Starling"
Send the email through your school gmail account!
Today I am unfortunately away sick! You will be in the library for the lesson, so here are your instructions for English today.
Do now: Answer the big question on your 10D English Hāpara workspace. It is the yellow card.
Task 1: Complete the Blind Date with a Book survey. Read each blurb carefully and choose which book you would MOST like to read this term.
Task 2: Seeing as you are already in the library, for the rest of this period you are to look through the books and choose one to borrow.
Take your time choosing, you can look through several books, and you might not find one you like right away.
You will need to take this book up to the librarian so she can issue it out to you.
Exit ticket: Once you have chosen a book, complete the exit ticket so I know which book you have chosen to read!
