Joint practice and small practical task - a small tray.

For the first 4 weeks you will hone your skills for the first few weeks as you get ready to start your projects. All projects this Year have only a +/- 1mm tolerance so it is important that you can use the tools and equipment accurately.

Unit Standard 9786 - 3 L2 Credits - Set and operate a sanding machine to sand shape furniture components

Unit Standard 25569 6 L2 Credits - Demonstrate knowledge of timber types and insect attack in furniture operations

8-10 weeks.  Start Term 2 - Week 8

Unit Standard 18918 - 6 L2 Credits - Construct a furniture carcase

Unit Standard 18917 - 3 L2 Credits - Construct hand joints for furniture

Optional - 18915 - 3 Credits - L2 - Use fixing hardware in furniture making.
