All 9th graders will be introduced to SchooLinks! This is a program used by all students in our school district. All students can access SchooLinks through their Backpack account and all grade levels use this program to enhance career research and gain insight into possible career paths. We use a variety of tools with 9th and 10th graders to introduce them to the program and guide them through career assessments, research colleges/majors, job outlook, etc. Our 11th graders continue to use this program by focusing on the resume building tool. This portion becomes very useful for students who are making a list of high school accomplishments, awards, volunteer work, work experience, sports, clubs, etc. Starting this step early helps prepare students to create resumes for internships and future employment, and collect information for college applications. Feel free to access SchooLinks with your students and check out all of the tools available! Log in to Student Backpack account > click on Education Apps > Click on SchooLinks app.
Whether you plan to enter the workforce, enlist in the military, or attend college, a strong student profile and resume are essential. These tools help employers, military recruiters, and admissions representatives understand who you are, your strengths, and what you bring to the table. Developing your student profile and resume before graduating high school can open doors to the best opportunities aligned with your future goals. To build a strong student profile, focus on three key areas: work hard in school academically, get involved in the community with volunteer opportunities, and get involved with your school through clubs, sports, arts, or other extracurriculars.
