FAFSA Information/Updates

We have been notified by Federal Student Aid and South Carolina’s Commission on Higher Education that the FAFSA is a in a “soft launch” phase, meaning it is only available for short periods of time. There is no schedule for when it will be open or for when the “soft launch” will end.

At our College Goal event, we will start by checking to see if the form is open or not. If it is not open, we will offer a demo of the FAFSA for both you and your parent/family member. We highly encourage you to stay for this demo in case we are not available to assist you right away when it opens. It should take about 20 minutes. After the demo, we will check again to see if the FAFSA is available to complete. If it is open, we encourage you to stay to receive assistance in completing it while we have knowledgeable volunteers available to assist you and your family.

FAFSA Workshop for Parents and Students - College bound senior students and parents are invited to attend Travelers Rest High School’s FAFSA workshop Monday, February 12th at 6:00pm in the Media Center. Participants will have the opportunity to work on the FAFSA with the North Greenville University financial aid counselors and other community volunteers. Please apply for your FSA ID before you come (see below)!
