What is a Magnet Academy?
Greenville County Schools' magnet academies offer unique educational choices to the students of Greenville County to meet their individual needs.
The academic program of each magnet academy offers a theme or focus that is designed to give students an opportunity to explore a special interest, gift, talent, or skill.
Our theme/focus is arts and communication.
Stone Academy does not operate under the "school within a school" model. All arts education opportunities are available to all students
The magnet academies attract top students as well as talented teachers who bring innovative ideas to the classroom. Teachers are chosen based on their specialized skills and commitment to each program’s focus.
The Board of Trustees and School District Administration are committed to the success of the Select Schools Program. Additional funding is allocated to Select Schools to meet their personnel, instructional, and staff development needs.
There are three Elementary Magnet Schools: Stone Academy, Blythe Academy, and East North Street Academy.
