I joined the faculty at Tanglewood Middle School in March 2019. I enjoy teaching history, love learning about new technologies, and am famous for wearing bow ties.

After living in Lexington, SC, for most of my life, I moved to the upstate to attend Anderson University (SC). From there I went on to earn two Masters Degrees. My wife Amy and I cheer for the Old Gold and Black of Wake Forest University, where we met. Our house resounds with laughter with one son and one cat.

When I was in middle school, my favorite subjects were math and science, but I was also an avid reader. Some of my favorite authors and books from middle school are: Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park (the movie version came out when I was 11), Ellen Raskin's The Westing Game, Madeline L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time series, C. S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, the Encyclopedia Brown series by Donald J. Sobol, along with Egyptian, Norse, Greek, and Roman mythologies.

Nowadays, I read a lot in my car using audiobooks. You can usually find me taking in a fantasy or mystery.
