Missed Work/Make-Up Policy

A = 90 – 100

B = 80– 89

C = 70 – 79

D = 60 – 69

Homework Policy

Many students do not have access to a home computer; therefore, this class will not require homework on a daily basis.  However, students will be more successful by studying for unit tests and, when needed, by practicing drills in order to increase speed and accuracy.

Core Expectations

• Read the Student Handbook and be familiar with school rules.

• Recognize that the teacher will establish class procedures, provide instruction, determine seating, and dismiss students at the end of the class period.

• Arrive on time to each class.

• Bring all necessary materials, including completed assignments, to every class.

• Show courtesy to teachers and other students; refrain from talking out of turn or using profane or rude language in any situation.

• Give full attention to each class.

• Accept responsibility for learning and following all school rules.

• Learn and follow individual classroom rules and procedures.

Rules for Student Behavior

• Wear school ID every day.

• Be in your seat when the bell rings. Students should come in class and begin working on the Bell Ringer, which will be on the board

• Do your own work; cheating is not permitted.

• Stay on task; horseplay, disruptive or harassing behaviors are not allowed.

• Students are not to wear hats or any other headgear in the building.

• Absolutely no rolling around in the chairs with wheels.

• Treat your work station and equipment with respect; if equipment does not operate properly, report the details to the teacher.

• All rules outlined in the student handbook.

Consequences for Violating Class and School Rules/Policies 

Your teacher will work with the student to remedy all barriers to learning.  At all times, the Student Handbook will dictate procedures.

Cell Phone Policy

Cell phones are not allowed in class unless used for an assignment. 

Internet Policy

Internet use in class is a privilege. You are not to be on the Internet unless given authorization by the teacher. In those times that you are allowed to get on the Internet to play games, they are limited to strategy, logic, or puzzle games. 

Procedures for Non-Instructional Routines

Students who need to leave OR enter the room for any reason must receive a pass from the teacher and sign in/out of the classroom. Students are encouraged to use the restroom during lunch and class changes.

Parent/Guardian Communication

Business teachers maintain individual websites for information and news.  In addition, business teachers record grades in PowerTeacher, which allows parents to monitor their child’s progress via the Parent Backpack.  Parents and students can access the Backpack via a computer or any mobile device with Internet service. Of course, you will receive the official mid-term progress report and end-of-quarter final grade.  Parents can contact the teacher by telephone or e-mail- shansen@greenville.k12.sc.us.
