Accommodations - individualized supports that help our students access learning and participate in the school day. 

Advocacy -  making sure our students’ voices, needs, strengths, and rights are represented throughout their school experience.

Absences - If your child will be absent from school, please let us know as soon as possible by sending a note, email, or filling out this google form. This allows us to plan our day appropriately and not worry! For students in grades K -12, principals shall promptly approve or disapprove any student's absences in excess of ten (10) days, whether those absences are lawful, unlawful, or a combination of the two. Absences in excess of ten (10) days will not be considered excused with a parent/guardian note unless accompanied by official medical documentation or otherwise approved by the principal as a lawful absence. 

Allergies - If your child has any food, medication, environmental, or other allergies please communicate this information to the school nurse and classroom staff as soon as possible. 

Attendance - In accordance with the South Carolina Compulsory School Attendance law, the School District of Greenville County has adopted uniform rules to ensure that students attend school regularly. Click here for Greenville County Attendance Information.

Arrival - If your child is a bus rider, an assistant or I will meet the bus each morning and ensure your child is safely escorted to our classroom. If your child is a morning car rider, please enter the car line located at the front of the school and make sure the red car tag is clearly displayed. The car line is open from 7:15am - 7:45am. When dropping your child off each morning, please turn on your hazard lights* to indicate that your child will need assistance from a staff member. *Using your hazard lights is very important, as it alerts our staff on car line duty that your child requires individualized assistance during arrival. This helps ensure a familiar adult is available to assist your child out of the vehicle and provide any accommodations or support needed to meet their individual safety needs.

Assessments – All students in a self-contained ID Moderate classroom setting will participate in the Brigance, an Alternate District Assessment. Students in grades 3–5 will also participate in the SC-ALT, South Carolina’s alternate statewide assessment. Assessments are administered based on each student’s grade level, eligibility, and IEP requirements.
