Travel Tuesday - Out of this World

There are so many amazing places to see on Earth, but what about outside of our world? Let's find out!

Access Mars

In November of 2011, NASA launched a rocket carrying the rover named Curiosity. Curiosity traveled 352 million miles over more than 8 months before it was lowered onto the surface of Mars. You can travel the surface of Mars with Curiosity and learn more about the current state of the mission from NASA.

Exploring Space

NASA’s Commercial Crew Program (CCP) plays an important role in the agency’s deep space exploration goals as it works with commercial partners, like SpaceX, to launch astronauts to the International Space Station from U.S. soil on American-built rockets and spacecraft. Get an immersive look at the program with these videos, including one on training as an astronaut!

Exoplanets

Ever wish you could travel to another planet and see what it would be like on the surface? This 360 video takes you to different exoplanets to explore what scientists think the surfaces look like. I think I'll stick to Earth... these don't look too hospitable!

The Moon

The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter camera flies over the lunar terrain, coming in for close looks at a variety of interesting sites on the moon in this virtual tour!

NASA at Home

NASA has created a huge set of activities, videos, games and more, all designed to challenge and inspire you!

Are you the next space explorers?

The International Space Station

The International Space Station (ISS) is a modular space station in low earth orbit. The ISS program is a multi-national collaboration between five space agencies: NASA (United States), Roscosmos (Russia), JAXA (Japan), ESA (Europe), and CSA (Canada). The ISS circles the Earth in roughly 92 minutes, completing 15.5 orbits per day. Take a tour of the different capsules and see what it's like to be "quarantined" in space!

Lots of science fiction takes place in space - have you read anything set in space, or on a different planet, before?
