We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our Lunch with Leaders series for students again this year. This program will introduce our students to a wide range of careers by inviting professionals from various fields to share their experiences and insights. The series will help students make connections between their classroom learning and real-world careers, inspire goal-setting, and encourage exploration of potential career paths early in their academic journey. Students should sign up through the link at the top of this page or in your school counselor's Google Classroom.
This Lunch with Leaders is for
8th grade students only.

We are excited to kick off our Lunch with Leaders series learning from current Juniors and Seniors at Riverside High School who are a part of the Future Teachers Academy. The Future Teachers Academy program includes hands-on practicums in local schools, mentoring opportunities with district officials and group projects with peers. Students can earn 12 hours of college credit and 120 hours of teaching experience. If they plan to attend Clemson, students can enroll in ‘Expressway to Tiger Town,’ which guarantees automatic acceptance to their College of Education. Students may complete their bachelor’s degree in 3 years. They also have a guaranteed interview with Greenville County Schools.
We enjoyed having Mr. Dave Yearick, Founder and President of Greenville based The Good Game Company, out to speak with our students during lunch/recess on April 10th. He spoke about his experiences across several career clusters (arts, marketing, business management) and the process involved in creating a board game from the ground up.
Participants were entered into a drawing for a chance to win a free game AND were able to vote on which games we should purchase for the school!
We enjoyed having Ms. Sydney Sullivan, Meteorologist with WYFF News 4 Today, join us in January. She spoke about her career in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math career cluster as well as it's tie in to the Arts, A/V Technology, and Communications career cluster. She also walked through a meteorologist's tools and resources to help predict weather and gave us some insight into the recent snow event.
Our first guest speaker, Master Deputy Brown with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, joined us on November 8th during each grade level’s lunch period and brought his K-9 therapy dog, Deputy Dally. MD Brown spoke about his experiences within the Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security career cluster as well as Dally’s role and responsibilities within the Sheriff’s Office.
