Missing, Lost, or Stolen Chromebooks and Chargers

Riverside High School's Chromebook Policy

Please note that students who leave Chromebook unattended are being negligent. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure the safety of their device at all times, much as they would with their wallet/purse or other valuable items.

Lost Chromebooks

Students should report missing or lost Chromebooks to Mr. Williams in the Media Center from during any of the lunches (11:30-12:50) along with a Missing Chromebook Form. If the Chromebook has been stolen the missing Chromebook form must be turned in with a police report within 48 hrs of the incident. You can print this out and fill it out ahead of time to expedite the process, located here. You will have to get signatures from all of your teachers stating you have looked for the Chromebook in each class as well as get a parent signature.

Lost Chargers

Students are only Issued one charger at the beginning of the year. If the charger is lost/missing/damaged, you will be charged for a replacement and given an new charger. Students should not purchase their own replacement charger.

Recouping Losses

You will be issued another Chromebook after review of your case by your administrator and the School Resource Officer.

Students who do not meet the eligibility for replacement will need to pay the Chromebook replacement cost ($278.78 ) and, if applicable, the cost of the Chromebook charger ($30.74 ).

Chromebooks that are reported stolen will be shut-down and rendered unusable by the district.
