Frequently Asked Questions

1.) I am in General Music, but am not interested in taking Strings. What do I do?

Answer: You do not need to change your schedule. After the quarter (6th grade) or semester (7th/8th grade), you will go to your new Essentials class.

2.) I am in General music and want to take Strings. What do I do?

Answer: Have your parent reach out to Mr. Purcell and their grade level counselor. We will do our best to make it happen! :)

3.) What if I did not want to register for this class and want out?

Answer: Speak with your parents and grade level counselor.

4.) I am currently enrolled in Strings. What do I need and where can I go?

Answer: Please check the Orchestra Handbook. You can find it in the "Orchestra Information" page. 

5.) Where can I rent an instrument? Is there a cost?

Answer: You can either rent from the school or rent from a music store! If you are in Strings, there is a rental fee of $50/year. If you are in General Music, there is no rental fee, but students enrolled in Strings will have first dibs on school owned instruments.
