School Nurse objectives

To promote health and prevent disease among school age students by improving immunization, providing health education, and collaborating with public health in regards to communicable diseases.

To maintain a safe and healthy environment for students by training staff in CPR, First aid, Automatic Electronic Defibrillator (AED) and administration of emergency medications.

To assist students in medical emergencies such as head Injuries, broken bones, life threatening allergic reactions and breathing difficulties.

To administer daily and emergency medications to students with pre-existing conditions.

To improve access to and use of health care services with yearly hearing and vision screenings.

To provide referrals and follow ups of abnormal screenings.
