Students will refine their ability to communicate visually, manage a wide range of tools and materials, and achieve quality, style, and craftsmanship in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and crafts. Students will have opportunities for evaluating and critiquing their own and other students’ artwork as well as studying artists and analyzing their work.

50% of the students grade is from MAJOR class assignments including large art projects and tests.
50% of the students grade is from MINOR class assessments including art journals, homework, and smaller art projects.
Art Journals- daily entries will consist of project ideas, class notes, sketches and reflections
Art Projects- will include different art techniques and mediums covered in class
Major art projects and group projects will be completed over the course of more than two class periods.
Minor art projects and group projects will be completed in one or two class periods.
Tests- tests will be given to further assess the progress of the student
Homework- assignments will be given as needed
The following grading scale will be used
A= 100-90% B= 89-80% C= 79-70% D= 69-60% F= 59 and below
