In my free time...I have many interests.
I love to spend time with family and friends. We play cards, boardgames, and even Rock Band on the XBox. My favorite instruments are the bass guitar and the drums.
I also serve as the webmaster for the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association (ESRA). It is a volunteer position, the ESRA organization is ran entirely by volunteers. While not a Rocket Scientist, being part of ESRA has sparked by inner Rocketeer and my goal is to earn my L1 Rocket Certification before the end of the school year.
When we have time we travel to learn more about the world and people around us. We have been lucky enough to visit Central & South America, Europe, and Asia, four of the seven continents. The Navy allowed us to live in Japan for three years which was an amazing experience and also where I found my passion to be a teacher. I really want to visit Egypt and see the Pyramids and Antarctica to see pinguins.
I consider myself to be a life-long-learner. When we are not traveling, I like to read both fiction and non-fiction books. My goal this year is to read 100 books. I love to read about the world around me and our history. I also love to learn how to best help my students. I love music and going to concerts, but I think my all time favorite thing to do is antique and thrift store shopping. I love old things. When we moved to the area we bought a 165 year old farm house.
