September 21st - 

We have a fun-filled week of learning ahead! Our students will be exploring colors, shapes, counting, matching, and sorting through hands-on activities and playful learning centers. We will also enjoy reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? as we practice identifying colors, matching pictures, making animal sounds, and remembering what comes next in the story. Along the way, we will continue building early writing and literacy skills with Play-Doh, name tracing, Heggerty, and Mat Man while practicing following directions, using safe and calm bodies, and becoming more independent in our classroom routines. 

September 14th - 

We have lots of fun learning activities planned for our classroom this week! Students will continue building early math and literacy skills through counting, color and size matching, shape activities, pre-writing practice, and hands-on centers. We will revisit Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? while practicing picture matching, colors, animal sounds, and sequencing. Students will also continue working on Mat Man, following directions, classroom routines, and developing independence through play and engaging hands-on activities. 

September 7th - Labor Day!

We are excited to jump into a new week of learning and exploration! This week, students will practice early math and literacy skills through hands-on activities focused on shapes, counting, colors, sizes, and matching. We will also enjoy The Three Bears during our shared reading time while building listening and comprehension skills. Through Play-Doh, name activities, structured play, and Mat Man, we will continue working on following directions, building independence, and developing important classroom and social skills. 

August 31st - 

This week, we will continue learning through fun, hands-on activities that build early academic and social skills. We will explore shapes, colors, numbers, letters, and name-writing through games, Play-Doh, tracing, sorting, matching, and other center activities. We will also enjoy reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? while practicing picture and color matching, animal sounds, and sequencing. Throughout the week, we will continue practicing following directions, using safe and calm bodies, managing our feelings, and building independence through play and classroom activities. 

August 24th - 

This week, we will be learning through hands-on activities that focus on colors, shapes, numbers, letters, and name-writing skills. We will continue exploring Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? through picture and color matching, animal sounds, and sequencing activities. Students will also practice pre-writing shapes, Mat Man, phonological awareness, and social-emotional skills while building independence through task boxes and structured play.

August 17th - First Full Week

We are excited to have our students back for a full week of school! This week, we will practice learning and recognizing our names while working on forming pre-writing shapes. Students will also be introduced to numbers 1–5, shapes, and colors through fun, hands-on activities. We will begin reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and exploring the story together. Due to the hot temperatures, recess may be held indoors when needed to keep everyone safe and comfortable. 

August 11th - Welcome to Crestview! 

We are so excited for your student to start! Please remember that students will start on a staggered start schedule sent home during Meet the Teacher.
