Program Goal
Our goal is to help each child grow and learn at their own pace. We provide learning activities that support language, math, social skills, motor skills, and self-help skills. Our classroom is a safe, caring place where children with developmental delays can explore and develop important skills based on South Carolina standards.
What We Teach
We focus on helping children develop in many areas, including:
Communication and language
Early math concepts
Social and emotional skills
Motor skills (fine and gross)
Self-care and independence
Exploring the world around them through hands-on activities
Our themes change throughout the year to keep learning fun and meaningful. Examples include:
All About Me
Family and Friends
Nature and Animals
Community Helpers
Seasons and Celebrations
How We Check Progress
We use different ways to see how each child is doing:
Observations and checklists
Samples of work and play
Photos and videos
Results from special evaluations
These help us plan the best activities for each child and share progress with families.
Working Together with Families
Families are important partners in your child’s learning. We will:
Share ideas for activities you can do at home
Invite you to parent meetings and events
Offer at least two parent-teacher conferences each year
Communicate regularly through notes, calls, and newsletters
We welcome parents to share talents, volunteer, and support our classroom community.
Behavior and Classroom Rules
We teach children to be kind, respectful, and responsible. Our simple classroom rules are:
Use listening ears
Use looking eyes
Use quiet voices
Use walking feet
Use helping hands
We work on solving problems kindly and helping children feel safe and happy
