Hi! My name is Sophia De La Torre. I teach Preschool Special Education and feel truly grateful to be part of such an important stage in your child’s learning journey.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of South Carolina and began my career in marketing. While I enjoyed that work, I quickly realized my heart belonged in the classroom. I gained hands-on experience as a Special Education Aide in middle school, which confirmed my passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
I’m CPI and Ukeru Mat trained through Greenville County Schools, and I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging space for every child. My teaching is grounded in patience, play, structure, and compassion.
Meet your special education paraprofessionals, Mrs. D and Mrs. Phillips!
This is my fourth year working as an assistant in K4 right here at Crestview Elementary! Before that I was a Special Ed assistant and a kindergarten assistant. I have been with Greenville County School for almost 10 years. The kids knows me by Mrs. D and it's a pleasure to be working with your kids.
My favorite colors are black and white, I love rabbits, and my favorite hobbies are dancing and coloring. I love milk chocolate!
Hi, My name is Jennifer Phillips. I am so excited to assist in your child's classroom this year! This will be my second working at Crestview in Special Education after working 2 years at Blue Ridge High School. Crestview holds a special place in my heart because 2 of my own children came to school here.
Outside of the classroom I enjoy spending time with my husband Kevin, our Sons and daughters in laws and especially our 4 grandchildren. We are often found camping in the mountains or at the beach.
