Hello Parents and Students!
Welcome to our classroom community! I'm Mary Paul, and I'm excited to begin my 29th year of teaching and my 3rd year at Monarch! Over the course of my career, I've had the privilege of teaching various grade levels, including 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and virtual 5th grade . About eight years in, I took a six-year leave to be a stay-at-home mom to my two children. I returned to the classroom when they reached school age and have been passionately teaching ever since.
During my teaching journey, I have watched many of my former students embark on their careers and start their own families. I came to realize that many of the talents, personalities, characteristics, likes and dislikes that they had as a little 3rd or 4th grader, actually followed them into adulthood. As a result, I now view my students not merely as fourth graders, but as future professionals, parents, and community members whose strengths and gifts I have the privilege of honing, influencing and inspiring!
I am thrilled and honored to be able to be a part of your child's growth this year!
My Objectives for This School Year
Celebrate Uniqueness
Each student will be encouraged to appreciate and embrace their own individuality, recognizing the value they bring to our classroom community.
High, Yet Reachable Expectations
I will maintain high expectations for every child while ensuring they are realistic and achievable. My goal is for each student to finish the year with increased confidence and self-assurance.
Student Well-Being First
Your child’s well-being will always be a top priority. I will care for them as if they were my own, creating a safe and supportive classroom environment.
Beyond Academics
In addition to striving for academic excellence, I aim to help each student grow into a kind and compassionate individual who is better equipped to face life’s challenges with confidence.
You are braver than you believe, smarter than you think and stronger than you seem."
