Welcome! I am Tricia Mauldin, and while this is my first year at Hughes Academy, I have been teaching English for more than 24 years. I love helping students use their curiosity to discover the power of language through reading, writing, and discussion.
I believe that strong relationships, high expectations, and a supportive classroom environment help students grow both academically and personally. I also believe that learning is a lifelong adventure, and I’m excited to share that journey with my students this year.
When I’m not at school, I enjoy reading historical fiction, spending time at my dad’s farm, traveling with my son, Patrick, and hanging out with our two dogs, Willow and Moseley.
