About Me

Hey there! I’m Mrs. Owens and I am excited to serve as the School Mental Health Counselor at League Academy! I earned my Bachelor’s degree at USC Upstate in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Psychology, Education, and Criminal Justice, as well as a minor in Child Advocacy Studies. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Master’s degree in Social Work and this will be my fifth year providing mental health services to students in Greenville County Schools.

I'm a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), and I've spent my career working with middle and high school students facing challenges like anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, social anxiety, changes in family dynamics, trauma, etc., as well as other hurdles that can pop up during school, at home, and in life. My approach is all about compassion, and I always aim to meet students and their families right where they are. It truly takes a village and I’m happy to be on your team providing you with the necessary support to overcome any barriers you might be facing.

My husband and I will be welcoming our baby girl in October of this year, as well as celebrating three years of marriage! In my free time, you’ll probably find me behind a camera photographing special moments at gatherings, going on walks, shopping at Hobby Lobby and Target, spending time with family and friends, watching the Clemson Tigers or the Buffalo Bills playing football, or spending time with our Shih Tzu, Maggie. 😊
